It's Been a While

It's been a while since I last posted. Here's a quick update on what we've been up to. . .

We spent Christmas 2010 with family and friends.

We headed to California in February for a little getaway.

And golfed in St. George.

We are also expecting our first little one this fall!

(I realized I really haven't taken many pics over the last few months.)

Kentucky & A Little Halloween Fun

Looks like a scene from a movie doesn't it?
Well, my cousin got married a couple months ago and had a her reception two weekends ago. It was a "Day at the Races" in Kentucky. My mom, sisters and I packed up and headed out. It sure felt like a movie in that place - I've never seen anything like it!
This is at my cousin's husband's family farm where they board horses. The horses saw us coming and lined up in a perfect row and started walking toward us. They were gorgeous animals and were so friendly and curious.
In Cincinnati. My aunt and uncle took us to Skyline Chili, which is famous for their food. My mom ate the Cincinnati tradition called a "three way" - spaghetti, chili and cheese. When I got home we saw this wonder on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Then they took us to "Graters," probably the best ice cream I have ever had.
We headed to Lexington for the luncheon and day at the races. They had their luncheon at the Keenland Mansion, which is at the Keenland Race Track where we watched the races.
Mom, Tam, me, Anna, and my Aunt Pam.
The beautiful fall leaves outside the mansion.
This is what it looked like driving up to the luncheon, gorgeous!
Ok, it started to do the underline thing and this post has already taken way too much time. Not about to start over. My cousin Andrea, Anna, my cousin Emily (the bride), Tam and me.
Look at that! It was so neat!
They give you these sweet umbrellas to combat the blazing sun.
We visited my cousin's husband's family farm. Tam was a natural with the horses.
The road through the farm.
Mom and me.

This weekend we had the annual Middlemiss Halloween Bash. It was too fun!
Thanks mom and dad.
Brady has the best ideas for Halloween Costumes. Although not too functional, we loved ours this year.

How could I not post this precious one?
The whole group!
I needed some help at the fishing pond. Anything that required me using both hands together was out of the question.
Pretty fairy.
Jon, the donut eating contest winner for the 3rd year in a row!
Bobbing for apples. . .I think Jer won?
Happy Halloween!!!

Welcome Fall!!!

I am really enjoying the Fall this year. The crispness in the air is getting me excited for all of the upcoming holidays and family gatherings!
We decided we would get right into the fall spirit and started out by carving pumpkins last night.
We found all of our pumpkins at the Farmer's Market this year. They have such fun varieties and really different looking ones. Grab some this weekend if you want 'em cause it's the last week of the market for the year.
Cutting and cleaning out the seeds. I love cooking and eating the seeds.

Brady got this sweet green pumpkin.
Trying to imitate the faces we carved. Gotta love Cody's face. Brady I think you get the vote for the face most like your pumpkin (or at least for your effort)!
We thought this pic was just brilliant.
I saw this idea in the Pottery Barn catalogue and decided I could do it. Thanks Brooke and Linda for all your help!
Finished Product.
What a great start to fall!

Brady's Big 3-0!!!

Brady is 30!!!
We started off the celebrations with the Lion King.

Next we had family dinner with the Barker Family.
Look carefully at their expression. Exactly the same. I know what Brady will look like when we get older! So glad Gramps made it to the party.
.
RB & LB made his Sunday dinner special. Burgers were Brady's choice for dinner.
Cody & Brooke gave him this awesome shirt.
We topped it all off on the real day with a Surprise Party!!!

His favorite dessert, Nana's Eclair Dessert.

The kids loved the pinata, but Brady got a turn too.

Happy 30th Brady Jay!

Camping

Before the camping story. A few weekends ago Brady was out of town for work so I decided to have my niece and nephew over for a sleepover. Aren't they just the cutest things ever? We ate dinner at McDonald's (his favorite), rode tracks to temple square, played in the fountains, watched playhouse disney and ate lots of popsicles. They were a blast.
I was at work Friday and Brady called me and said we were going camping. He got all the gear ready, found dutch oven recipes, packed up the car and we were off as soon as I got home from work. After a little drive up past Kamas we were worried we weren't going to find a spot, but found this great one! It was so much fun!
Brady made dinner for all of us.
Our camp

Campfire and s'mores.
Cody found a little fire wood.
It was so beautiful up there. I think these look like engagement pics. Ha.
Cody and Brooke.
Our site was just feet from the water.
Brooke and I were so proud of ourselves because we set up the tent (while the boys got dinner ready)
